First Post

All the sites that I used had instructions to help me set them up. Instructions were not needed for me personally because I have experience with blogs and websites. For beginners though, instructions would be needed. It’s a personal preference if you need instructions or not. You can control who sees your blog and/or posts. You can also disable comments on your blog and/or just delete the posts. If students were to set up a blog I would choose the blogger one because it is the easiest blog to set up and maintain. Although it is not an educational blogging site, it is the easiest to use, so students can get used to using blogs, then when they have basic experience, they can make an edu blog. Edu blog is designed for educational purposes and easy for teachers and students to stay connected for school. I would definitely not recommend the word press one because it is harder to set up and maintain and requires a lot more information. The blogger and edu blogs let you set up an account which results in you being able to start blogging right away. If a student were to make the same blog as me, I would tell them to set up the blog, but do not use personal information. Before posting and starting to blog, I would tell the student to think of a theme or what they want to blog about. It’s always better to have a general idea of what you want to blog about. That gives you topics to blog about and helps other bloggers find your blog. After telling the student what to think about, I would also tell them to change their background wallpaper for the blog and to change their profile picture. This will make the blog more appealing, plus nobody wants to see a default wallpaper and/or profile picture. If you want to blog, then you have to be different. After they have done that, I would tell them to start posting and to post varieties of things. Including: youtube videos, news articles, pictures, etc. Finally, I would tell them to make sure you give credits to anything you use that isn’t yours. Meaning you don’t take credit for a picture that isn’t yours.
Overall, I found setting up a blog easy. My experience with blogging and websites gave me an edge over others.
